Ritwik Kakati, PE, LEED AP, CPHC, is a mechanical engineer and an expert on energy analysis, including Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and energy modeling. He leads a team of professionals who have performed modeling services for the Department of Buildings, LEED and Enterprise Green Communities compliance. His group completed energy modeling for the LEED-Gold certified 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge.
Kakati, who started his engineering career with Dagher in 2008, has designed building systems for private and public sector clients, including for the NYC Department of Design and Construction, the School Construction Authority, the Economic Development Corporation, and the Department of Corrections.
Notable projects include the new mixed-use high rise at 42 Trinity Place in the Financial District; the redevelopment of 16 East 16th Street into a nine-story luxury hotel for Gramercy Park House; and systems for a ground-up new facility for Queen’s Public School 375. For Betances Residence, a supportive senior housing complex in the Bronx, Kakati provided MEP/FP and Passive House consulting. He is a Certified Passive House Consultant and a member of ACEC New York’s Technology Committee.
