PROJECT
UTILITIES MASTER PLAN FOR 1.5MM SQFT CAMPUS

CLIENT
THE AGA KHAN FOUNDATION

Dagher Engineering was awarded the 2004 ACEC NY Platinum Award in recognition of the engineering master plan and schematic design for the Aga Khan University. Aside from conventional utilities, the master plan calls for the installation of systems relying on conservation and the use of renewable resources. Given the fast growing population of Pakistan, and the scarcity of natural resources and utilities to meet the growing demand, our plan advocates the use of innovative conservation and reuse methods for natural resources. A high efficiency 6.0 MW cogeneration plant will be installed to provide combined power and cooling to the campus. This plant is expected to reduce energy use in the campus by over 55%.

As part of the continuing effort to reduce the complex' impact on the environment, we have teamed with the Architect to optimize the overall building envelope.

The complex is intended to be an international model of architectural and energy efficiency.
