HERON AND PAGODA TOWERS, SEATTLE, WA
Comprised of two towers connected by a centralized atrium featuring deluxe retail space, the new mixed-use, 1.2 million square-foot high-end development is located at 1903 Fifth Avenue in Seattle. The 40-floor Pagoda Tower, will feature prime office space and a high-end hotel. Amenities include ballrooms, conference rooms, a pool, and spa. The remaining floors above the base will house condominiums. The 46-floor Heron tower will consist of condominiums, and include community rooms as well as recreational facilities.
To comply with Seattle’s successful regulatory standards, measures, and incentives promoting sustainable development, the development will integrate green engineering initiatives to reduce this project’s environmental impact. Each tower will have a green roof, solar arrays and a rainwater catchment system. Additionally, microturbines will reduce the impact of the building on the city’s electrical grid, by providing nearly 7% of the building’s peak load electricity needs.
